Mott MacDonald is working extensively on improving India’s highway
infrastructure, focussing on assignments for respected clients,
particularly the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
Activities in this sector include design, tender preparation and
construction supervision, for urban, inter-urban and industrial
estate road systems.
Mott MacDonald in India has been instrumental in the preparation of
detailed project reports in many key projects of National Highways
Authority of India (NHAI), having designed/ designing 386kms, 2/4
lane on NH-7, NH-5&NH-9, NH-91, NH-10 and NH-86, including
highway bridges of 2kms over Krishna River and 550m over Pennar
River.
We undertook design audit and provided safety recommendations for
two rural highways in the state of Gujarat for Gujarat State Road
Development Corporation.
Additionally, we have prepared a feasibility study of Ring Road in
Ludhiana (62kms, 4/6 lane) for Punjab Industrial Development Board
(PIDB) - to be developed on BOT basis - and preparation of a
detailed project report of 35kms of Urban Road in Kanpur for Kanpur
Development Authority. We are working on two major construction
supervision of National Highways (with a total length of 145kms, 2/
4 lanes).
Mott MacDonald has been appointed detailed design consultant by
IVRCL Raipur Bilaspur Tollways Limited (Special Purpose Vehicle)
for the Raipur-Bilaspur national highway 200. The new road will
connect Raipur in Chhattisgarh to Chandikhole in Orissa, passing
through areas like Bilaspur, Raigarh and Jarsuguda. Costing INR
13000million, the 127km long project road is primarily made up of
four lanes, with 34km of the highway comprising six lanes. The
works will include design of four major and 19 minor bridges, a
rail over bridge, three flyovers, 22 vehicular and nine pedestrian
underpasses, 172 culverts, 18 major junctions, 15 bus bays, two
truck lay byes, three toll plazas and 25km of retaining walls.
