Trenching Work in Progress at MADC SEZ,
NagpurThe Government of Maharashtra through Maharashtra
Airport Development Company Ltd. (MADCL) is developing a Special
Economic Zone (SEZ) in vicinity of Nagpur International Airport.
Mott MacDonald has designed the power evacuation from Captive Power
Plant and distribution of the power at 11kV to bulk consumers and
at low tension to small power usage consumers. Mott MacDonald, as
Project Management Consultant is assisting MADC in development of
the distribution Network at SEZ through reviewing the engineering
calculations & drawings of EPC contractor, QA & QC both at
site as well at manufacturing plant, contract management and
construction supervision, performance tests.
Distribution Reforms Upgrades and Management (DRUM)
33/11 kV Waluj Sub-station under
ConstructionDistribution Reforms Upgrades and Management
(DRUM) is an USAID funded project focusing on creation of Center of
Excellence in Distribution. The Project characteristics included a
focus on the “last mile”, Emphasis on high service quality plus
commercial viability and effort to create “bankable” Discoms.
Through this the new concepts were also tested and breakthroughs
(projects) were identified. Aurangabad Urban was taken up as a
pilot area for the above study. This project includes construction
of 11 33/11 kV sub-stations, underground network, RMU, HVDS, AMR,
remote monitoring of performance indicies, IT infrastructure,
pre-paid metering, fault passage indicators etc. Mott MacDonald
with PA Consulting is providing technical assistance, commodity
procurement, implementation oversight support, quality management
and project site administration of Aurangabad Division I.
Rambara HEP (76 MW)
Lanco Hydro Energies Private Limited had appointed Mott MacDonald
for the preparation of detailed project report. The project
envisages construction of 32 m high dam on river Mandakini, 6 km
long Head Race Tunnel, underground power house, surge shaft and
steel penstocks. The project lies at an elevation of 2650 m above
mean sea level. The project envisages generation of 358 GWh energy
at 967 m head.
Project Site 76 MW Rambara Hydro Electric
ProjectThe project area is approachable by trekking of about
14 km, in fair weather. Due to environmental requirements, the
construction of roads in the area is not possible. To facilitate
the construction of the project in difficult region and high
altitude, innovative technology has been used including provision
of two ropeways, use of helicopters, and use of Tunnel Boring
Machines etc.
Feasibility & detailed project report 4x300 MW thermal
power project
Mott MacDonald has been appointed as Technical Advisor (TA) by VISA
Power Limited for undertaking the Techno-Economic feasibility study
and preparing detailed project report for 1200 MW project. Scope of
services comprises of selection of the most suitable site and
preparation of bankable detailed project report comprising
following but not limited to and shall cover all provisions/norms
framed by CEA for preparation of bankable detailed project report
and cover the following aspects (assuming the pre-feasibility /
feasibility data for the project are made available to us at the
time of start of work).
Retainer consultancy for RLA of 4x210 MW CSEB thermal power
plants
Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board has appointed M/S Mott
MacDonald as RLA Review Consultant for Residual Life Assessment /
Condition Assessment and Performance Evaluation Test Studies on
Steam Generator, Turbo Generator along with Balance of Plant of
4x210 MW Hasdeo TPS.
775 MW Luhri hydro electric project

ProjectSatluj Jal Vidyut Nigam appointed Mott MacDonald for
preparation of detailed project report, bid level drawings, design,
tender documents, and specifications etc. for Luhri Hydro Electric
Project in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The key features of the
scheme are a concrete dam around 48 m high with an integral gated
spillway, a river channel to provide a desilting facility with a
large capacity, a headrace tunnel around 38 km long on the right
bank of the river with an arrangement consisting of either a single
tunnel of 11.75 m diameter or twin tunnels of 9.0 m diameter. The
project will also feature an underground power station with 4
turbine-generator units and an installed capacity of 700 MW.
1015 MW Nagarjuna thermal power project

Project SiteMott MacDonald is Lender’s Engineer to Power
Finance Corporation for this project. MM undertook due diligence of
the project prior to financial closure by the Lender. Currently MM
is advising Lenders on construction progress of the project.
Biomass power project
Turboatom TPS Projects Limited planned to set – up a 30 MW biomass
based Power Plant in Vidharbha region of Maharashtra. The company
has tied up with reputed Chinese technology and equipment supplier
as an EPC Contractor. Mott MacDonald assisted the company in
achieving financial closure.
