Mott MacDonald has been appointed by Vinati Organics Limited to
provide design and technical consultancy services for a new
manufacturing facility in Chiplun, Maharashtra, India.
Vinati Organics Ltd is expanding its manufacturing business in ATBS
(a substance used as catalyst in acrylic fibre production). By
building a new facility that will enable the manufacture of
isobutylene from methyl butyl tertiary ether, the company will be
able to backward integrate its manufacturing process as Isobutylene
is the major raw material for ATBS.
Mott MacDonald India’s team of professionals have been appointed
through an EPCM contract which covers detailed design and
engineering, procurement assistance, inspection and site management
services.
K.D.Fatnani, Mott MacDonald’s project director said, “This is an
interesting project as the fractionation of different components
has close boiling points which means separation of different
components is very critical to get purity of the product. Mott
MacDonald India has an excellent track record in delivering
industrial and commercial projects and we are very pleased to be
appointed by Vinati Organics Limited.”
The project, valued at Rs400 million or around US $6 million is due
for completion by the end of the year.
