Looking beyond the plant itself, our engineering business for
industry is also concerned with the creation of supporting
infrastructure. This includes captive power plants, water supply,
roads, waste management, drainage and effluent treatment. We cater
for customers who are self-contained and for those who provide
facilities to industries gathered in a dedicated estate.
The planning, design and implementation of industrial estates,
development zones and regions have been a key market for Mott
MacDonald multi-disciplinary capabilities, in India and globally.
We have designed and supervised the implementation of a new estate
for small scale industries in Qatar and we are currently working on
the new Hira (Diamond) Bourse in Surat, which is one of the world’s
leading centres for gems and jewellery production.
We have also been involved in the planning of new export processing
zones in Mumbai. We have been proud to be associated with the
petroleum, chemicals and petrochemical investment regions (PCPIR)
for the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Government of
India in three Indian states.
Mott MacDonald is preparing the rejuvenation
strategy and marketing plan for the city of Howrah aimed at
reorientation and modernisation of the industrial, trade and
