The chemicals and petrochemicals industries have been our core
competency and a major market for our business in India. Over the
four decades we have served almost the entire spectrum of chemical
sector covering fine and speciality chemicals, pigments and paints,
dyes and intermediates, print inks, synthetic fibre intermediates,
soaps and detergents, fertilizers, agrochemicals and pesticides,
lubricants, polymers and other organic fractions.
We provided basic engineering, detailed design,
procurement assistance, construction supervision and project
management services for the DuPont performance coating plant in the
state of Gujarat.
Our work in the chemical sector relies on selecting the appropriate
level of expertise from the individual disciplines and combining
these resources into a team to fulfil the objectives of the
project. The level and type of expertise varies from in-house
economists, financial experts and technologists to process experts
and engineers, estimators and valuers. Involvement of the suitable
expertise depends largely on the project phase, for example policy
formation, concept development to techno-economic feasibility,
environment impact assessment to HAZOP, process scale-up to basic
engineering, design and detailed engineering to cost estimates,
procurement and construction support to commissioning assistance.
We also support valuation and benchmarking for market assessment,
technology search, mergers and acquisitions.
In 2007, S S Acharya, our Management Consultancy Division Director,
presented a paper during the round-table on PCPIR policy attended
by 30 top global chemical and petrochemical companies as part of
his role advising government on setting up investment regions for
chemical manufacturing in various Indian states. We have carried out
several assignments in petrochemical sectors including setting up
of petrochemical complexes in various Indian states. We have been
proud to be associated with the petroleum, chemicals and
petrochemical investment regions (PCPIR) for the Department of
Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Government of India.
